Welcome to Playgroup
During the first couple of weeks we will be focusing on settling in, making friends and exploring the playgroup environment.
We will be talking about our playgroup rules as well as exploring the importance of sharing and helping each other.
Keep an eye on the whiteboard in the playground to see what the children have been doing on a daily basis.
Children’s Personal Belongings
Can you please ensure that your child’s belongings are clearly named. This helps staff match items to children and makes getting ready to go home easier.
Please speak to a member of staff if you would like to order any uniform for your child.
Polo Shirts – £9.00
Please feel free to help yourself to the books outside on the slope to share at home and return when finished.
Please also enjoy our lovely story sacks that are filled with fun activities to share with the whole family.
These have worked really well in the past, with the children loving to share their achievements from home. The certificates can be used to celebrate anything from using the toilet, helping, going to bed on time or eating their vegetables!
Certificates are situated by the door.
Please ensure that the black gate is shut at all times when entering or leaving the school premises. The safety of the playgroup and school children is a priority. Thank you for your support.
Please be patient with us at pick up times while we get used to all the new faces. Children are encouraged to sit and wait until their name is called ready to go home. Please wait in the main playground away from theslope and small gate at this causes congestion.
In line with our policies we ask that you keep you child at home if they are unwell. If children appear unwell during the session – for example if they have a temperature, sickness diarrhoea or pains, particulary in the head or stomach – a member of staff will call you and ask that you collect your child, or that you send a known carer on your behalf.
Where children have been prescribed antibiotics for an infectious illness, we ask parents to keep their child at home for 48 hours before returning to the setting.
After diarrhoea or sickness, we ask that children are kept at home for 48 hours following the last episode.
As a charity (non-profit) run playgroup we are facing significant financial challenges under the new funding regime. Current Government funding rates only cover the cost of delivering the educational element of our provision and do not cover additional costs such as breakfast, snacks and consumables such as nappy sacks, baby wipes etc. With regret, we have therefore had to take the decision to ask for a voluntary contribution of 50p per week to support us in providing these services. Thank you for your understanding.
