Spring is in the air and the sun is shining!  Our books for this half term are “Dear Zoo” and “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.”  We have been busy making a lovely Dear Zoo display and writing letters to the zoo to ask for a pet.  During the next few weeks we will looking at growth and will be planting cress.  We are always looking for new ideas and activities for the children, so please let us know if you have any ideas.

Parent Review Week

Monday 27th – Friday 31st March

Please make an appointment to see your child’s key worker during the week to discuss your child’s progress

Emergency Contacts

Do we have the most up to date telephone numbers and email address for you?  Can we contact you or an emergency backup if we need to speak to you during the session?  Please ensure you update us with any changes to contact details as soon as possible so we can update our records accordingly.

School Admissions

September 2017

If your child is due to start school in September, you should receive confirmation of a school place for your child over the Easter holidays.  We will be confirming with you where your child is going so we can ensure we do everything we can to ensure a smooth transition for your child. If you have any concerns or worries regarding your child starting school, please speak to your child’s key worker.

Please do not send your child to playgroup if they’re poorly.  They really are much better off at home.  Also, a reminder that if they have an upset tummy or sickness they cannot return until at least 48 hours after the last episode of sickness/diarrhoea.  If your child is poorly whilst at playgroup we will phone and ask you to collect them.

Book Share

The books on the outside book shelf are available for children to take home and read with their parents/carers.  Please help yourself.  We also have some lovely busy bags to share at home with lovely games and activities for you to share with your child.  These can be found on the children’s self-registration table.

New Art Gallery

We have a new “Art Gallery” board in the setting where we are displaying the children’s lovely art work.  Keep an eye open for your child’s masterpieces.  Once the pictures have been on a display for a while, we will send them home as normal.

Just a reminder that you can add observations and photographs to your child’s learning journal. Some of the children have been talking about holidays they have been on recently and it would be lovely to see some photographs added to their journal.  Please speak to Sue if you need help with this.
